Richard works in goverance and business development roles for several New Zealand technology exporters. He shares a passion for New Zealand's economic improvement through better marketing of IP and technology.                                                        

Richard is Chairman of the SPM Group. He is a New Zealand based specialist in the development of global businesses that are based on intellectual property. He has over 26 years of solid commercial experience and a passion for rapid growth as well as the creation and retention of company value. Over the years Richard has played an active role in the success of many New Zealand technology companies.

Richard is also the founder of Concept to Market Ltd, first established in 2001 and Chairman of WinScribe Inc, one of New Zealand's most successful global software companies. He is the father of one very busy little girl and an average and infrequent golfer.

Throughout a career that was founded in sales and marketing, Richard has held senior management positions in technology companies, including ‘sweat equity' positions with growth companies. He spent nearly 10 years helping to build a small technology company through an IPO and into a large public company, which eventually listed on NASDAQ. His skills and experience range from sales and marketing to group management and governance.

With a desire to see New Zealand technology companies compete more successfully in global markets, Richard currently serves as an advisory board member for the AUT Business Innovation Centre - AUT University's technology business incubator. He also co-wrote and delivered many instances of the New Zealand Accelerated Business Growth course for young technology companies - a high impact 6 workshop ‘boot camp' for technology entrepreneurs. In his spare time he sometimes serves as a Business in the Community mentor.
