SPM’s software engineers have pioneered new data collection technology using our central server, web forms, and devices that can connect to the internet while in the field. A device only needs a web browser to access the Mobile forms and the SPM Assets database, which means that the upload / download process is no longer needed and saves a significant amount of time.

The new technology means that a surveyor can do a complete survey in the field without the need to create data models in SPM Assets. Results so far show reductions of time by as much as 40% - this considers the full preparation, survey and analysis process.

We are finding that the technology works very well on the iPads and iPhones using Safari as the web browser, and as such we are offering hardware leases for the iPads including the micro SIM data plan, and full setup.  All the surveyor needs to do is turn it on and start surveying.
